What You’ll Learn

Through your fabrication apprenticeship, you’ll gain practical skills and industry knowledge, including:

  • Metal cutting, welding, and shaping
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Safe use of power tools and machinery
  • Understanding different metals and their properties
  • Assembly of structural components

You’ll train on the job while working alongside skilled tradespeople. You’ll also complete structured coursework with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

  • Duration: 3 to 4 years
  • Blend of on-the-job training and classroom learning
  • Nationally recognised Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade
  • You must be 15 years or older to start
